Tell HN: I (accidentally) started "hosting" a government website

Some time ago, I was experimenting with AWS S3 buckets and noticed that my teammate managed to create one using her own name. I was surprised - since S3 bucket names are globally unique - that it was still available.

So I decided to see how generic a name I could claim.

My first try, "aws", failed. But the second one, "gov", succeeded.

So now, technically speaking, I "host" a government website: http://gov.s3-website-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/

If anyone’s thinking of founding a new country, let me know - I already have the hosting sorted.

I think "government" needs the quotes here far more than "host" does. Why would anyone believe that this address is for an official government website of any particular country? I mean, it ends in .com....
