As an Alt-something kind of service they could spend the additional (small) effort and switch to something more suited. Chisel as example is currently hosting development of the entire Arcan framework, IPC system and all UI implementations on top of it. I believe Chisel would be more than capable to properly serve Ygg dev ops as well.

Not sure how recent you are framing in your question, but the go implementation also runs on OpenWRT, in case you want to try it out.
