DoorDash uses AI to add descriptions to menu items at some restaurants. The first time I noticed it, the description was for macaroni and cheese, and there is no way the actual product was going to match the gourmet description AI came up with.

While no one will die from this, I don't think AI and food mix very well.

It is shocking to me that Instacart is still showing absolutely disgusting-looking AI-generated food pictures next to AI-generated recipes. Honestly every single one looks absolutely vile - none of them even look like food at all. And I see them every single time I go grocery shopping.

I swear they don't even have a human review any of it for even 1 second. These pictures are just....really really gross-looking. They don't even look like food. They don't even look like staged pictures for marketing of food. They look....cursed from the devil himself.

Look, horrendous nightmare pseudo-food pictures are just the price that has to be paid to appease the markets.

Claiming to use 'ai' was probably worth a few percent on their stock price; what they're using it for hardly matters provided they say the magic word.
